Putting nurses in the picture with artist Rebecca Osborne

We asked you what your biggest challenges were in your role, and we heard you.

In March we launched Nursing Live at the RCNi's Jobs Fair in Birmingham.

We enlisted the help of renowned artist and illustrator, Rebecca Osborne, to do a live illustration based on ideas which directly came from nurses themselves.

It helped create a real buzz around the event, and Rebecca did a brilliant job bringing to life the hopes and aspirations of nurses from many different backgrounds and disciplines.

In addition, the project helped to capture some of the barriers, issues and opportunities which currently exist across the nursing sector, many of which will be discussed at Nursing Live.

These included the need for nurses to take better care of themselves as well as their patients, the benefits of embracing new technology, and the importance of nurses getting together to collaborate, share best practice, and have some fun.

Thank you to all the nurses we spoke to in Birmingham who shared their thoughts with us, and we can't wait for you to join us in Liverpool this November.

You can view a digital version of Rebecca’s brilliant illustration here.
