Anita qualified as a registered nurse in 1984 and specialised in burns & plastic surgery nursing before leaving the NHS to manage and lead the care in her family’s nursing home, which is rated outstanding by CQC in all 5 areas inspected. Anita has 35 years’ experience of working in the social care sector. Throughout this time Anita has collaborated at a strategic level with both health and social care bodies.
Anita has held positions as a non-executive director for a primary care trust and at a healthcare trust governor. Anita has been a board member and fellow for Skills for Care (SfC). She is currently a trustee for My Homelife and board member for the National Care Association. More recently, Anita has been appointed as the Midlands Social Care Nursing Advisory Council chair.
